ABOUT

About the Founder

Hey there lovelies!

I am Sharon. The founder and owner of Gippsland Bath & Body and I absolutely love what I do.

I didn’t always want to own my own business. In fact, if you asked me 10 years ago where I would be in 2020, I certainly wouldn’t have planned to have moved interstate and completely change careers. I didn’t even know my now husband yet!

I grew up in Wollongong, NSW and am the middle daughter of three girls. In 2012 I met my now husband and we married in 2017. In 2013 I moved to Victoria to be closer to him and have loved living here since. We have lived in the Gippsland region since the beginning of 2019. Beautiful countryside, magnificent mountain tops and the glorious sea, what’s not to love?

Since I was young, I always wanted to be a nurse. I pursued that career soon after leaving school. I did enjoy it but, in the end, I decided it wasn’t the career for me. As time has gone on, things happening in my life have emphasized that more. But my nursing experience wasn’t a waste of time. In fact, the information I have learnt there is becoming of great use in my business now.

I want to be one who helps prevent disease, rather than cure it.

Why am I passionate about natural health and disease prevention, you may ask? Because I have lived it and I want to pass that knowledge onto others.

  • I have been in a position where I couldn’t afford natural products. Which is why I aim to provide products and workshops at the lowest cost possible.
  • I have changed my life through a healthier lifestyle. I have lost 30kg’s and am seeing ailments I have heal and change before my very eyes. I am seeing others around me change too.
  • I struggle with my mental health and self-worth and I want us to learn together how important it is that we look after ourselves in a holistic way.

I look forward to serving the Gippsland community and beyond with my knowledge and experience and helping you take health into your own hands.

About the Brand

The idea to start my own business came to mind about 5 years ago. I wanted to start looking after my skin with products that are more natural. I was on a tight budget at the time and could not afford everything natural as it is often sold at a higher price.

I then started to think about making my own products. I bought some supplies and before I knew it, I was using my own bath & body products. I wanted to supply others with natural skincare products too, that did not cost an arm and a leg. I had dreams to start turning it into a business straight away but that did not come to fruition.

Mid-2019 was when it all started to come together. I applied to be a participant in the NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme) program and was accepted. My business idea started to come to life and before I knew it, I was making my first sales at markets.

My first year of business has been a year of growth and learning. Whilst the reason I started my business is still a focus today, I have branched out and am slowly turning it into a holistic health brand. Not only do I want to provide customers with reasonably priced products, I also want to educate and advocate for natural health. I want to teach you how to look after your mind & body holistically.

I have big plans and dreams for Gippsland Bath & Body, and I cannot wait to see it all come together and I would love to have you come along the journey with me.
